藤原 六間堂
ROCKENDOU FUJIWARA
本名・秀樹。
1957年、現代中国画の巨匠と評される斉白石の門下生であり、三鼎の一人といわれた藤原楞山の長男として、岡山県に生まれる。
父・楞山を師として、中国画壇の画家との交流を続け、1989年に中国蘇州教育学院芸術科水墨画名誉講師となる。
水墨画虎杖会主宰。金石六友会主宰。
山陽新聞カルチャー教室講師。
著書・画集「水墨画の上達法」「風景の彩り」「水墨図案500選」(日貿出版社刊)ほか多数。
岡山高島屋、米子高島屋、丸善ギャラリー、東京有楽町朝日ギャラリーなどで毎年個展を開催。
2011年、NHK・BSプレミアム「若冲ミラクルワールド」「極上美の饗宴・アメリカ秘蔵の江戸名画」に出演し、若冲の超絶技巧を再現する。

Profile

1957 Born in Amaki, Kurashiki City, Okayama, as the eldest son of Ryozan Fujiwara, who was one of the three most important pupils of Qi Baishi, a master of contemporary Chinese painting. Studied Suibokuga (sumi-ink painting) under the guidance of his father Ryozan, Rockendou has established his connection with artists in the painting circle in China.

1989 Appointed as an honorary lecturer of Suibokuga painting at the Department of Fine Art, Suzhou Institute of Education, China.

1995 Appointed as an honorary advisor to the Suzhou Research Association of Wu Changshuo, China.

2011 Featured in two TV documentaries on Japan Broadcasting Cooporation (NHK) BS Premium, ‘Jakuchu Miracle World’ and ‘The Banquet of Ultimate Beauty – Edo paintings of a treasured collection in the US’, as a contemporary Suibokuga artist, and demonstrated the Suibokuga techniques used by Jyakuchu Ito, a master of Japanese paintings in Edo period.
